Srabanti Chatterjee made her debut as a child actor in the film industry with the film Mayar Badhon (1997). She played the character of “Maya” in the film.

She lost the election and after eight months of joining, she quit the Bharatiya Janata Party on 11 November 2021.

Controversies

Roshan Singh’s accusation against Srabanti Chatterjee

Srabanti Chatterjee landed into controversy after filing a divorce against her third husband Roshan Singh, on 16 September 2021. According to sources, in 2022, Roshan filed a case against Srabanti Chatterjee for spreading false rumours about him and demanding an alimony of Rs. 7 Lakh from him every month. The case was filed under section 304 of the CRPC. She was also accused of body shaming and sexual shaming Roshan Singh. ((The Times of India))

Booked for a photo shoot with a chained Mongoose

In 2022, Srabanti Chatterjee posted a picture on her social media account where she was seen with a chained mongoose pup separated from its mother. The post was criticised by netizens for chaining an animal and then showing love for it. She was sent a notice from the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau of West Bengal on 15 February 2022. Srabanti Chatterjee was booked under sections 9, 11, 39, 48A, 49, and 49A of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972. These sections are made to protect plants and animal species from being captured and to prevent their transport and possession.  Accused of scamming gym members 

In 2023, a few gym members filed a complaint against the gym’s co-owner Srabanti Chatterjee for scamming them of the fees they paid during enrollment. According to sources, gym members claimed that the gym was closed from Holi 2023. The complaints also stated that the members were asked to pay extra money to appoint a personal trainer after the gym was closed.
