Politics
During Rudranil Ghosh’s younger days, he was associated with the leftist party CPI(M), during the reign of Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee as the CM of West Bengal. In 2011, when the Trinamool Congress came to power in West Bengal, he joined the party as a member. In 2014, he was chosen as the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training chairman. He was later removed from this position after joining the Bharatiya Janata Party. According to Rudranil Ghosh, the reason for leaving TMC was the corruption that was going on among the party members. He criticized Mamata Banerjee for attacking BJP on ‘Black money’. He also used the term ‘cut money’ to describe the Mamata Banerjee-led government. Nilanjana Pande MeToo case against Rudranil Ghosh
Nilanjana Pande accused Rudranil Ghosh of sexual harassment. She shared the details about the case on her social media pages and interviews in 2021. She claimed that she was an employee in Rudranil Ghosh’s production house Workshop Production & Allied Private Limited where the actor had sexually abused her. She also stated that the actor had not paid her the entire salary. When Rudranil was asked about the case, the actor claimed that the case was baseless as there was no evidence and didn’t remember any girl named Nilanjana Pande as there were many employees in their production house. Making inappropriate remarks against the actress
Rudranil Ghosh and actor Parambrata Chatterjee appeared in a talk show titled Shonge Srijit (2015) hosted by Srijit Mukherjee the Bengali film director. According to Rudranil, both the actors were having a fling with the same actress.
