Film

Dev worked as an observer on the film sets of the Hindi film Tarzan: The Wonder Car (2004). He made his debut in the Bengali film industry as an actor with the film Agnishapath (2006). He played the character of “Jeet” in the film.

Dev joined the All India Trinamool Congress party in 2014. The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, selected him to contest the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 from the Ghatal constituency. He won the elections. After serving a tenure of 5 years he was re-elected in 2019 as the MP of Ghatal constituency.

Dev and his father Gurupada Adhikari own a production company known as Dev Entertainment Ventures Private Limited. The company was established in 2015, and Dev is its director. He has produced several films such as Cockpit (2017) Hoichoi Unlimited (2018), Password (2019), Tonic (2021), Kishmish (2022), and Pradhan (2023).

Dev Accused of Unethical Comments

Dev faced controversy when he was asked in an interview before the Lok Sabha Elections 2014 if he was enjoying being in the spotlight to which he replied that it was like getting sexually assaulted to which there was no other alternative.
